Do the cottages have private baths?
As most cottages have no private bathing facilities, guests are invited to make use of the Lodge’s three spacious Japanese-style baths. The ‘New Lodge’ cottages are equipped with private showers.

Does the Lodge provide personal care items such as towels, toothbrushes, shampoo and hair dryers?
We provide each guest with hand towels, bath towels, and a samue (a comfortable pajama-like top and bottom for indoor wear), but we ask that our guests bring their own toothbrushes and shaving supplies to help us in our effort to reduce disposable waste on Yakushima. Shampoo, soap and hair dryers are available for use in each of our large baths.

Is there a curfew? Do I have to return to the Lodge by a certain hour?
No. Guests are free to come and go as they like.

Is there adequate cell phone reception at the Lodge?
Yes.

Can I access the internet?
Yes. Wi-Fi access is available in our dining room and in all guest cottages.

Can I use fireworks at the Lodge?
It is not safe to launch large rocket-type fireworks in our forest location; however, small fireworks for home use can be enjoyed on the river bank bordering our grounds.
